Uppinangady : The murder case of a farmer named Annaiah Gowda by the three masked men in his house near Kokkada in Kalanja village on the night of April 19, Saturday, takes the new turn with the arrest of Gowda’s wife Amitha and her beloved Rudresh, working as a forest officer in Kalanja.
As suspected by the police and the local, the illicit relationship between the two had led to the murder of Annaiah Gowda and both have confessed their guilt to the police during interrogation.
It is learnt that Amitha runs a tailoring shop at Kokkada was having an extra marital affair with the forest officer and often used to visit her house at night, when her husband was out of the house. The locals, who used to notice such scene all the time, had also burnt the bike belonging to forest officer parked outside the house.
According the police, on the night of murder, Rudresh had called Amitha and forced to meet her. However, Amitha opposed since her husband was at home. The drunken Rudresh persisted to come home was later was asked by Amitha to enter the house after dislodging the roof tiles.
Even though Rudresh acted as per Amitha’s instruction, Gowda opened the back door and had confronted Rudresh, who later hit Gowda with the iron rod killing him on the spot.
Both Rudresh and Amitha were produced before the Judge of Beltangady court and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
