Mangalore : Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Odiyoor said that the worship of Lord Naga or Nagaradhane is an integral part of tulunadu culture and tradition and it must not be ignored.
Speaking after inaugurating a religious function and cultural programmes held at Alake Shree Nagabrahma Temple on May 2, Friday, he said that the culture of our land is protected only when the traditions are followed.
He also said that the renovation of religious shrines must take place, without causing any disturbance to nature. The mega proposed Niddodi project in regard will destroy the nature at large, hence the people of the district must join hands against it.
The event was held as a part of renovation of Bimba Pratishtapane, Brahmakalashotsava and Ashta Pavitra Nagamandalotsava at temple and Kallurti Panjurli Daivasthana.
Sri Mohandasa Paramahamsa Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Manila blessed the occasion and delivered the benedictory speech.
Kateel Temple priest Kamaladevi Prasad Asranna and Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple priest Raghavendra Shastri participated as the chief guests.
AJ Shetty, President of AJ Group of Institutions and Honorary President of the Renovation Committee presided over the event.
