Mangalore : The members of DK District Committee of the CPI(M) organized a dharna in front of the DC office on May 5, Monday against the caste discrimination or Pankti Bheda practiced in Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt.

Addressing the protestors, KR Sriyan said that CPI(M) condemn the ill practice of caste based discrimination followed in the temple in the name of Pankti Bheda.

He also said that recently a teacher from a Bunt community, who was seated for food on the Brahmin’s row was asked to leave the dining hall, giving insulting impression is a inhuman act.

He urged the government to stop such practices and immediately take steps to ban the practice.

CPI(M) leader Vasanth Achari , Sunil Kumar Bajal and others were present.
