Mangalore : The district unit of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged a protest Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged a protest against KSRTC bus fare hike in front of KSRTC bus stand on May 7, Wednesday.
Addressing the protestors, SDPI state committee member Abdul Jaleel, said that the government has hiked the bus fare making it a burden for common man. The government has failed to understand their responsibility to provide quality transport facility to public in affordable price.
He also said that if there are thousands of buses running in the state with profit, then how the KSRTC is facing loss.
They also urged the government to start KSRTC bus services to the rural areas.
SDPI district treasurer Anwar Sadat Bajatturu, district chief secretary Akhbar Ali, member of state committee Alphonso Franko, district secretary Riyaz Farangipete, district member Advocate Ashraf, Nawaz Ullal, Ashraf A.K, and others were present in the protest.
