Mangalore : State Health and Family Welfare Department secretary N Shivashailam said that in the coming days, Revenue department will provide the monthly pension to the Endosulfan affected people, instead of Health Department.

Speaking at the review meet on rehabilitation of Endosulfan victims, held at DC office on May 9, Friday, he said that the revenue department will take all the measures to provide pension to the victims regularly.

He also said that, it would be better to spend to provide good health for the Endosulfan affected victims, rather than to provide compensation to the families who died due to Endosulfan.

Shivashailam also instructed the concerned authorities to equip the rehabilitation centres of Endosulfan victims with all the basic facilities and ensure safety of disabled girl.

Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim, DK District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Shivakumar, Udupi District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Ramachandra Bairi, Dr Ravindranath Shanbhag and others were present.
