Mangalore : The members of Bharata Kranti Sena has begun the two-day hunger strike in front of the DC office on May 10, Saturday demanding to withdraw the murder case filed against ANF constable Naveen Naik, who had opened fire at Kabeer at Tanikodu check-post near Shringeri.
Addressing the protestors, Sena president Pranavananda Swami said that ANF police had opened fire at Kabeer mistaking him to be a Naxal, who had tried to flee on seeing them.
He also said that the state government must put an end to cattle slaughter taking place in the district and in order to stop it, the sena activists are ready to go to jail also.
The protestors also burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The protestors also handed over the memorandum to Tashildhar and on his assurance, Swamiji ended up the protest.
Shree Saradar Sevalal Swamiji from Chithradurga, Rajesh Poojary, Sundar G,Lohith Kumar, Uday Shanker Devadiga, Kumar Malemar and others were present.
