Mangalore: Admar Math has appointed a young engineering graduate from Shiroor in Hiriyadka near here, Sreesha Shiroor has been announced as the successor of Sri Viswapriya Theertha Swamiji of the Udupi Admar Math.
A mechanical engineering graduate Sreesha (29) from Jawaharlal college of engineering, Shimoga was born on March 20, 1985 as the son of Chandrasekhar and Gowri.
The Admar Math trust runs many educational institutions. The decision to appoint an educated person as the successor was to ensure effective functioning of the same, a Mutt release said.
Shrisha has also worked in Mangalore and Udupi for short period of time. Shrisha who has great interest in spiritual topics has heard lessons pertaining to grammar, Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya and Amarakosha from renowned scholar Padubidri Lakshminarayana Sharma, former principal, Udupi Sanskrit College. Presently,he hearing lessons on Vishnutatva Nirnaya from Ganapathi Acharya at Admar Math.
Sreesha said he would try to live upto the expectations of his Guru who had entrusted him with great responsibilities.
Sreesha would be taking up Upasanyasa and be declared as the successor of the Math on June 19. He has great interest towards religious duties and would be successful in managing the Math, Swami Viswapriya Theertha said in a statement.
