Mangalore : Taluk Panchayat President and vice-President election was held in Taluk Pnachayat hall on June 6 Friday. Rajani of Congress was unanimously elected as the president of Taluk Panchayat, there was no candidate from the BJP for the post which was reserved for SC. Prakash Yedapadavu of Bharatiya Janata Party elected as Vice-President.

The elections were conducted by Dr.Prasanth, assistant commissioner.

BJPs Prakash Yedapadavu won 19 votes while Prakash Hosabettu of Congress managed to get 17 votes.

Total 32 BJP members in the ZP, of them 31 were present even as 19 Congress members were present and one was absent.

U.T.Khader health minister was present and congratulated Rajani and Prakash.
