Mangalore : St Agnes college in association with Childline India Foundation, Mangalore launched child help line 1098 in the city to educate society on child care by District Child welfare Officer at St Agnes college, Mangalore here on Saturday July 12.
Mr Usman, District Child welfare Officer inaugurated the programme. Dr. Prem D’souza, Principal of St Agnes College presided over the inaugural programme.
Speaking after inauguration Usman district Child welfare Officer said, the Childline India Foundation and YMCA launched the help line 1098 throughout the city in 15 venues. It’s a 24 hour free phone service for any children protection or care public can contact though the number, he added.
He said, it is a day or night service, any Child or adult can dial Childline for children’s help or provide encouragement.
Dr. Sr. Supriya, Vice Principal, St Agnes college, Nikesh Shetty President of Child Welfare committee, Dr. Jayanth, HOD Chemistry Dept and Dr. Noyalin Pinto Natural Science, St Agnes College were present.
Chandramohan HOD Political Science and Asha D Lecturer for Social work St Agnes College conducted the programme.
