Mangalore: The traffic department reversed the recently imposed movements of the vehicles as usual at Balmatta-Bendorewell route here on Saturday July 19.
The local public had sent a memorandum to the traffic department and to the district administration for restoring the earlier system. The restaurant owners, auto drivers, doctors of a hospital on the route opposed the changing traffic system. After several protest corporators Azeez Kudroli submitted a memorandum to review of the traffic rule.
After imposing the new one-way traffic rule at Balmatta-Bendoorwell for less than a month, the city traffic police department decided to reverse it and reverted to the earlier system on Saturday July 19.
The Assistant Commissioner of police (traffic) Uday N Nayak said, the earlier two-way flow of traffic remains same. The department had introduced the new rule as a trial to study of traffic snarls.
