New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ready for fresh assembly elections in Delhi, its new state president Satish Upadhyay said Sunday.
Upadhyay told the media that if the polls were announced, “the BJP is fully prepared to contest”.
And if Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung invites the BJP to form a government, “we will analyse the situation and take a decision”.
Upadhyay made the comments after meeting Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He said they discussed good governance and issues concerning Delhi.
Delhi has been under President’s Rule after AAP Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, heading a minority government, resigned Feb 14. The BJP now has 28 seats in the 70-member legislature.
