Mangalore: In a clash between two students groups of University College, Hampankatta on Monday July 28, some of ABVP students were admitted to the hospital.
Sources said the clash was between the newly elected student union of the College and the students belongs the ABVP.
It is learnt that, Suhan, a student, was allegedly threatened on the issue of not supporting a particular group during the elections,he was assaulted by Manoj, Nikhil, Nishan and Karthik along with 20 students.
The injured Suhan, Deekshith, and Vidyasagar, of the ABVP, were admitted to hospital.
Principal Satyanarayana said, the clashes erupted over the issue of elections. He said that he would try to reach a compromise between the two groups.
Shyam Bhat, the college student council president, demanded that the vice-chancellor of Mangalore University intervene in the matter and take action against the accused.
Pandeshwar police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
