Mangalore : The  ISKCON at Arya samaj road under the direction of His Grace Karunya Sagar Dasa, President of ISKCON Mangalore and President of Akshaya Patra Foundation, Mangalore celebrated Balarama Poornima here on Sunday August 10th . 

The program started with Tulasi pooja at 5:45 PM. A grand Maha Abishekam offered  for their lordships Sri Sri Krishna Balarama –6:00 to 7:15 PM

A video show was  on pastimes of Lord Balarama presented by His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada(Founder Acharya ISKCON).  Maha Aarti offered for lordships Sri Sri Krishna Balarama accompanied by Maha Sankirtan.

Lord Balarama

Lord Balarama is a personal expansion of Supreme Lord Krishna and is the elder brother of Lord Sri Krishna in his earthly pastimes 5000years ago and is considered to be the original spiritual master. In the Upanisads it is stated, näyam ätmä bala-hénena labhyaù. The purport is that one cannot attain the supreme platform of self-realization without being sufficiently favored by Balaräma. Bala does not mean physical strength. No one can attain spiritual perfection by physical strength. One must have the spiritual strength which is infused by Balaräma, or Sankarshana. Ananta, , is the source of the power which sustains all the planets in their different positions. Materially this sustaining power is known as the law of gravitation, but actually it is a display of the potency of Sankarshana . Balaräma, or Sankarshana, is the source of spiritual power, or the original spiritual master. Therefore Lord Nityänanda Prabhu, who is also the incarnation of Balaräma, is the original spiritual master. And the spiritual master is the representative of Balaräma, the form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead who supplies spiritual strength. Press Release
