Mangalore : Mayor Mahabala Marla launched a programme ‘Vriksha Bandhana’ organised by Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya at Balmatta on August 11, Monday.

The programme was held with the theme ‘Save and Grow Trees’ with an objective to protect trees in the city.

As a part of programme, Mayor tied a wire mesh around a tree and poster bearing the slogans ‘Trees and Plants are Living Gods on this Earth,’ in Balmatta.

Renowned artist and convener of Sanchaya Dinesh Holla, MCC officials and several environmentalists were present.
