Mangalore : The District in charge minister Krishna J Palemar, visited the Public Works Department building and conducted the inspection of the building on November 19, Friday.
Speaking at the press meet, he said that the PWD building which does the entire infrastructure works of Mangalore, but its own building was in bad condition.
After a year, the building now looks renovated and is in the finishing stage, he said.
We must keep the office clean so that it will look pleasing for the people of DK and other country to come for their work. He also assured the department to grant the fund, and in return asked them to maintain it in future too, he said.
Today PWD is doing many good infrastructural works. The first and second phase college will alos be done soon. The infrastructural work at Bunder is also done by PWD and completed the work of Rs 15 crore and further the work of Rs 115 crore is to be done.
Speaking on the road works, he said that the road works will be done soon and the patch works will be completed within two months. This time PWD has given importance to good quality road. So that the road will not be damaged till next rainy season.
Explaining on the works of PWD, Balakrishna superintendent engineer, Mangalore Circle of PWD said that what the PWD is doing is not important, but its result is important. If we if use good quality bitumen for the roads, it will not cause damages.
Speaking about the lab, he said that there are three types of works taking place and it also contains field test equipments. The engineers are trained for the sample test of bitumen’s. Earlier there were only one lab for the circle, but now each taluk is established with one, so it is simplified. The estimate cost for the Samya Moora road work will cost around Rs 16 crore.
The sum of Rs 15.5 crore was granted for the establishment Science and technology centre at Pilikula. Further the tender will be called for the establishment of drama theatre, he added.
