Mangalore/Mudigere : The Mangalore police and Mudigere police have registered cases against members of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Hindu Jagarana Vedike for bursting crackers to mark celebration for the death of writer UR Ananthamurthy.
Mangalore police commissioner R Hitendra said that, a case have registered against unidentified persons under sections of the Indian Penal Code for causing public nuisance by bursting crackers.
Speaking on the occasion Bajrang Dal state president Sharan Pumpwell, said that the celebrations was not organized by their organization but might have carried by others. They had differences concerned to intellectual though and not personal.
Jnanpith award-winning litterateur Ananthamurthy, passed away in Bangalore at the age of 81 developing cardiac and respiratory complications on Friday.
It was Ananthamurthy, who criticized present Prime Minister Narendra Modi, before the elections and said to leave India if Modi came to power. His statement “I would not want to live in a country where Modi is the Prime Minister,” was replied by BJP supporters saying that he was free to leave the country.
The police is recovered the footage and photographs of the incidents of miscreants bursting firecrackers to mark Ananthamurthy’s death.
