Mangalore : MLC Ivan D’Souza said that the Ranga Mandir would come up in Bondel as decided during laying the foundation stone laying ceremony few years ago.
Speaking at the press meet at his new office located at first floor of the Mangalore City Corporation inaugurated on September 6, Saturday, he said that a website and facebook has also been unveiled for the active participation with the people of the city. The works undertaken by him will be update in the website on a daily basis.
D’Souza said that he cannot assure the duration for the completion of construction work but assured to initiate the project within a short span of time.
However, the foundation stone for Ranga Mandir was laid at Bondel on August 23, 2010 and the Kannada and culture department had allotted 3.35 acres of land by the district administration whereas another proposal was from the department of youth service and sports to allot the land for cricket stadium in the same place.
But the Ranga Mandir will be held in same place and other place would be identified for the establishment of cricket stadium.
During the inaugural ceremony, Ivan thanked MLA J R Lobo, Mayor Mahabala Marla and ministers from the district for their support.
