Mangalore : The police confirmed that the passenger was carrying an electronic device for repairing purpose and not explosives which was been seized at Mangalore International Airport on Sep 13, Saturday.
It is learnt that, Mohammad Abdul Khadar hailing from Kasargod arrived at Mangalore Airport to fly Dubai on Saturday carrying the packet. The officials who suspected it to be the some liquid seized the packet and took him to the custody. When the officials opened the packet they found explosive materials immediately, bomb detection squad and canine squad were pressed into action.
According to the sources, Khader who had got married just a month ago was on his way to Dubai to join back to the work. Khader’s neighbour had handed over a package to him containing food items. But Khader was unaware that the packet also contained tab and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide to be used for cleaning.
The officials also called the lady who gave the parcel to Khader for questioning. She revealed that the Tab battery was bulged and it could be repaired in India due to warranty issues and has failed to inform the matter to Khader about it.
After questioning, DCP K V Jagadish said that the bomb detection and disposal squad from Bangalore has confirmed that the luggage did not any explosive material.
