Mangalore : Three persons have been chosen for the Vimala V Pai Vishwa Konkani Sahitya Awards 2014, instituted by T V Mohandas Pai, under the aegis of World Konkani Centre.

Veteran Konkani writer Edwin J F D’Souza from Mangalore will be conferred with ‘Best Konkani Sahitya Puraskar’ for his work ‘Kallem Bhangaar’.

Renowned Konkani poet Sanjiv Verenkar, Goa, will be conferred with ‘Best Konkani Kavitha Krithi Puraskar’ for his work ‘Aswasth Surya’.

While, Fr Mark Waldar (75), former editor of Raknno Konkani Weekly, will be honoured with Jeevan Siddhi Puraskar (Lifetime Achievement Award) his contribution and services to the Konkani language and Konkani journalism.

The awards comprising of cash amount of Rs One lakh and citation will be presented to the awardees at a glittering ceremony to be held at T V Raman Pai hall on November 6, 2014.
