Mangalore : Thieves decamp with only small amount of cash after their attempt to rob six shops in Kallapu near Thokkottu under Ullal police station limits failed on September 17 late night.

The incident of theft came into light when owner of the complex noticed broken shutters of six shops on Thursday morning. He immediately informed localities and the soon the Ullal police visited the spot along with finger print experts and registered a case in his regard.

It is learnt that, since the owners of shops had taken away the valuables and cash and hence thieves had to get satisfied with small amount of cash.

The thieves had tried to loot the shop ‘Bed Zone’, owned by Anwar Abbas in Ruksana Complex, ‘Spark Electricals’ belonging to Abdul Khader, ‘United Timber Plywood’ belonging to Shujauddin, ‘Part Center’ belonging to Iqbal and two other small shops.

Further investigation is on.
