Bantwal : A group of men said to be Bajrangdal activists has allegedly attacked the driver of a pick-up truck transporting cattle near Bantwal on September 19, Thursday at 8.30 am.
Reportedly, Bajrangdal activists waylaid the truck near Thumbay which was transporting cattle to an abattoir from Bantwal to Mangalore and attacked the driver. Later, driver and three others ran away leaving the vehicle and the cattle.
The police have filed complaint against four persons identified as Ivan D’Souza, Tasleem, Basheer and Ashok who were transporting the cattle stolen from Vagga.
The police also seized the vehicle and a Motor bike from the spot.
Apart from it, the police also filed counter complaint against the assaulters identified as Thilakraj, Prashanth, Umesh and others for the attack. It also claimed that the cattle were legally transported and bought from houses in Vagga.
The Bantwal Police is investigating the case.
