Mangalore : ABVP activist staged protest a against ASI Shrikala and other police personnel’s of the Pandeshwar Police station assaulting students without reason. The student of the Wenlock nursing college marched from Wenlock hospital to police commissioner office, here on Tuesday, Sep 30.

It is said that, on Saturday Sep. 27 ASI Shrikala along with other police personnel’s of the the Pandeshwar Police station entered to the Wenlock Hospital’s Nursing students play ground’s without any permission from the principal and college authorities and they assaulted students. Two students were injured, wherein one is physically handicapped, both of hospitalized.

Police sources said, ASI Srikala and police personnel had gone, based on a compliant of a woman staff.

Speaking at the protest meet, Rama Madhav a nursing student said, police not only beat up the students, but used Obscenity words at them. The saluted students Vinay and Rajiv were unnecessarily beaten up, he said.

Jayaprakash, ABVP District Organizing Secretary also Spoke on the occasion.

The students handed over a memorandum to the commissioner. He assured the protesting students that DySP will enquire regarding the incident and action will be taken.
