Kasargod : A body of a college student was found at a railway track on October 8, after he accidently fell from the moving train at Kumble on October 7, Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Ahmed Shabeeb (20), a resident of Shifa land near Korakkodu Bilal Masjid. He was a first year interior designing student of Shree Devi College in Mangalore and was returning to Kasargod from Mangalore in Chennai Mail along with his friends during the incident.
I is learnt that, Shabeeb had gone to wash his face when the train reached Uppala and when he did not reach to his seat after a long time, his friends went in search of him and one of the passenger said that he had seen a person falling off from the train, by then the train had reached Kasargod.
Later his friends along with some other passengers got down at Kasargod and searched for him on railway tracks and also informed Police and fire brigade.
Nearly 300 locals, police and fire brigade staff conducted the search operation in Kumble, Shiriya, Muttam and Peruvad railway tracks and nearby bushes and ponds in Kumble, Shiriya and Mogral till 4 am and found the body in some bushes.
The body was later sent for post-mortem to Kasargod general hospital.
Shabeeb is survived by K A Mohammed Shareef Walibal and C H Balkis and siblings Shaheem, Suraifa, Saleena, Shahas and Shasim.
