Mangalore : The Pandeshwar Police on Saturday, October 25 have arrested a man for kidnapping and looting of a man from Kerala at Central Railway Station.
The arrested has been identified as Santosh Kumar D’Silva (19), a resident of St Joseph Nagar Compound, Nandigudde, Mangalore and seized an Omni car from him.
It is learnt that, the Police who were conducting routine checking of vehicles noticed Santosh Kumar who was trying to escape in his Omni car. The police immediately caught him and question and during interrogation he revealed that he along with three others had kidnapped and looted a man named Sajan from Kerala.
After the preliminary investigations it is revealed that Santosh Kumar and his gang used to loot people coming to city from neighbouring states.
In turn Sajan, resident of Karukacchal in Kottayam of Kerala also filed a complaint filed in Kottayam police station on August 27, stating that Santosh Kumar and his accomplices pulled him inside the car when he was going towards Mangalore Railway Station and assaulted him in the car.
He also stated that later he was taken to a under construction building and snatched his chain, laptop, charger, ring and ICICI ATM card and withdraw the amount of Rs 27,000 after forcing him to reveal the password.
This case was transferred by Kottayam Police to Pandeshwar Police Station through the City Commissioner transferred this case from Kottayam Police to Pandeshwar Police Station.
Pandeshwar Inspector Dinakar Shetty, DCIB SI Ananth Murdeshwar, Keshav, Vishwanath, Gangadhar, Damodar, Shaju K Nair, Jayprakash, Manikanta and Vishwanath Budoli conducted the investigations.
