Mangalore : In a rare incident a worker got locked inside a safe locker in a cooperative bank, for about two hours which is scheduled to be inaugurated shortly at Shirthady on October 29, Wednesday.

It is said that, the most of the work of the bank has been completed for the inauguration to be held at the bank located in a commercial complex of Shirthady market.

During the work of safety locker the some worker had kept the door open and placed a brick near its door to prevent it from closing. But unfortunately a hearing and speech impaired worker named Ashfaq from Belvai had gone inside the safe in the morning to clean it and was locked for two hours after other workers removed the brick and closed the safe without noticing Ashfaq.

The locked Ashfaq neither could hear the door getting closed nor scream for help. When the workers came after the tea hey heard someone banging the door from inside and realized that Ashfaq was trapped.

Later the local doctor Anil Kumar provided oxygen through a small hole to Ashfaq to breathe and he was released out after two hours of getting the key from the Mangalore office.
