Mangaluru : Demanding the special land revenue act, various scheduled castes and scheduled tribes organizations hold a protest rally in front of D C office here on November 17.

Scheduled castes and scheduled tribes citizens rights protection committee members marched in a protest rally from Jyothi circle to D C office.

Maranappa Nayak a committee member from Puttur said, government reserved lands for SC/ST community, but this land not benefited for the same caste. Government allotting lands to the industrial development sectors not for our community, he alleged.

We assemble here to demand for our rights. If government not giving our land, grant anywhere else, we do not make political intentions on this, he said.

R C Kembare, Chandra Kumar, Padmanaba Rai, Somanatha Rai Puttur, Ramesh Bogi, Sudatta Jain and others were present.

Later a Memorandum was given to deputy commissioner.
