Mangaluru :  Satish (26) accused of  Soumya (22) in Baltila village, Kalladka sexual assault cases, the Sixth Additional District and Sessions court, and Special Court on Tuesday, December 9 sentenced him  life imprisonment until last breath in connection with attempt to rape and murder case .

 The life Imprisonment until last breath and Rs 10,000 fine for rape attempt and murder under IPC 376 and IPC 302, five years of rigrous imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine for burglary under IPC 392, Rs 5,000 fine and rigorous imprisonment for destruction of evidence under IPC 201.

Judge H S Pushpanjali Devi ordered for the compensation to be paid to the family of Soumya. The Judge also ordered the Legal Services Authority tp pay maximum compenstion under Victims Family Compensation Scheme-2013.

Public Prosecutor Shivaprasad Alva had argued that if the accused was let out after serving life imprisonment of 14 years he would prove to be a menace in the future too. Thus he had to be sentenced to life imprisonment until last breath.
