Mangaluru : The 21st Dakshina Kannada District Conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) concluded here on Tuesday with leaders urging its cadres to fight communal and neo-liberal agenda of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre.
Addressing the valedictory meeting, the party’s central committee member and Kannur MP P.K. Sreemathi Teacher said the NDA government should launch ‘Work in India’ campaign instead of ‘Make in India’ campaign so as to give employment to the poor. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to make in India would only facilitate plundering of the nation’s wealth by multi-national companies and capitalists, she alleged.
Ms. Sreemathi said not even the Congress could protect the interests of the country. Both the NDA and the UPA are the two faces of the same coin, which have allowed looting of wealth by capitalists. The BJP’s promises to provide transparent administration and bring back black money had remained promises only, she said. It is the CPI(M) which has the capability and conviction to fight these vices. The cadres should work towards strengthening the party, she urged.
CPIM State Secretary G.V. Sreerama Reddy, leaders V.J.K. Nair and K.R. Sriyan spoke. A procession was taken out at Nehru Maidan before the conference.
