Moodbidri: “Alva’s Virasat is a unique occasion because it is a privilege for all of us. This event creates a wonder in me as it is special and as it enlightens us about our culture. The credit of conducting this event should be given Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva’s Education foundation”, said Dr Vinay Hegde, President of Nitte Education Trust, who gave presidential speech at Alva’s Virasat on 8th January 2015.
Addressing the august gathering he further said that, Education is a part of the activities that Dr Mohan Alva conducts, but the importance is also given to culture and sports events. His is an exceptional character. We feel too small to explain about him. The students who are pursuing their education here are the blessed ones. Education is dispensation of knowledge. And the quality of education should also be good which is seen in this institution. He also congratulated Dr Alva for the efforts that he has taken to conduct this event.
Mr Ramanath Rai, Minister of forestry, environment and wild life department, government of Karnataka, in his inaugural speech appreciated the work of Dr Alva saying that, the synonym for Moodbidri is Mohan Alva. He has modified this place and he is also working to inculcate the values of culture and tradition in the students. He has brought social unity in this region.
The recipient of Alva’s Virasat award 2015, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan expressed his gratitude for selecting him as the awardee. He also added that realization of art and culture is more in South. He congratulated Dr Alva and team for their efforts.And said that he would always spread the message of peace and harmony through music.

Mr Kidur Venugopal Shetty, Lecture in Kannada, Alva’s PU College mastered the ceremony.
