Mangaluru : The Panambur police on Monday arrested two persons on the charge of murdering 30-year-old Kalpana on January 12.
The police gave the names of the accused as Ajju (23) and his uncle Vrundavan Pradhan (38), both from Odisha.
The two were doing loading and other work at the Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers.
Deputy Commissioner of Police N. Vishnuvardhan told reporters that Ajju and Vrundavan Pradhan entered Kalpana’s room after her husband Rajesh and his brother left for work.
When Kalpana resisted their undue advances, the accused dragged her and slit her throat using a sharp object. The two then bludgeoned her, Mr. Vishnuvardhan said.
The two were found near the Surathkal police station on Monday.
The accused have reportedly admitted to murdering Kalpana, Mr. Vishnuvardhan added.
