Mangaluru: The Customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport seized gold worth Rs 15.90 lakhs, totally weighing over 570 grams, her on February 4, Wednesday.

The passenger named Mohammad Basheer from Pallatungal in Tekkil, of Kasargod district who arrived at the airport in the morning of February 4 by Jet Airways flight from Dubai carried the gold in concealed inner top cover of two trolley suitcases.

Under the guidance of Commissioner D. Purushotham, Assistant commissioner Udayashankaran N conducted the operation.
