Mangaluru : The national Students and Parents Association India, Residents of Tachchani, Devipura and surrounding areas off Kotekar staged a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Saturday Feb.7.

Protesters alleged the inaction against illegal movement of sand and wooden log-laden trucks on Talapadi-Tachchani Road.

The Students and Parents Association, Kotekar, Founder president Janardhan Salian said the Talapadi-Tachchani Road is being used by sand and wooden log transporters to avoid the check post at Talapadi.

The village road is just enough for movement of light motor vehicles and frequent movement of trucks has affected the life of residents. Whenever trucks break-down on the road, the lone bus service to Devipura gets affected, he said.
