Mangaluru : KPCC appointed a team of observers to check the activities of Bharatiya Hindu Parishat (BHP). The Party have already taken disciplinary action against Kavu Hemanath Shetty, and removed him from the President of Puttur Block Congress Committee.
The party believed in inclusive politics, not an isolated attempts like Mr. Shetty without getting the party’s approval, such organisations are not acceptable in the Congress, said President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Dr Parameshwar.
Speaking to reporters at the Circuit House on February 9, Monday, Parameshwar said, we also informed Mr. Vijaynath Vittal Shetty who is supposed to preside over the Samajotsava may be disqualified from the party if he participated in upcoming Hindu Virat Samajotsava on March 1.
He said the High Command has to take the decision (on his joining the government) and until then he would continue to work for strengthening the party.
The membership drive would end this month-end and Dakshina Kannada has been the 10th district he is visiting so far to view the progress of the drive. The drive would also help the party to set up a data bank of the party cadres in the digital format and this conforms to the All India Congress Committee directive too.
Since AICC President Rahul Gandhi has chosen Karnataka as one the states for a pilot on organisational election – booth and block levels, the Pradesh Committee has geared up to meet the expectations.
Responding to the constant decrease in fuel prices, the PCC has urged the government and the Chief Minister to reduce the bus fares proportionate to the decrease in the prices, but after working out other costs too, Mr. Parameshwara said. He hoped that the government would take a suitable decision soon after examining all the aspects.
