Mangalore : Karnataka primary and secondary education minister Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri said that that the governments schools have taken started teaching difficult words and make them write to the primary school children.
Speaking at the press meet held at Zilla Panchayath mini Hall on December 2, Thursday, he said that the schools have started giving the grades to children as a result like A, B, C and D, instead of the marks. This is a good method of giving quality based education, he said.
The schools are also giving special training to the backward students to improve their grammar in the languages like English and Kannada.
The government, aided and non-aided schools will be given importance to health and hence, heath club will be started to high schools, which will be guided under the leadership of a physical trainer (PT), science teacher and a doctor, he added.
At present the mid-day meal is being given to 75 lakhs students per day in a state and the salary for the cook and assistant cook of the mid day meal has been increased from Rs 600 to Rs 1,500 from last December, he informed.
The aided school also has request for the mid day meal, the state will for the rice and other required things, but the salary for the cook must be given by the schools, he stated.
He also said that all the books to be distributed among the students have been supplied to the schools and the books to be given for the year 2011 will be given to the schools by the month of March. The government will also arrange the trips for the students, he added.
