Mangaluru : The students of the Srinivas College celebrated the holy festival with coloured waters powders in different vivid hues. They enjoyed Holi by splashing coloured powder on each other followed by coloured water. Buckets of water rained on the students playing in the courtyard.
Gujaratis and Rajasthanis who are settled here also celebrated the festivitival in wholeheartedly. Alake near Kudroli is one place in the city where the festival is celebrated with its full fervour. According to community leaders about 1,500 Gujaratis reside in the area. Most of them are businessmen, who were settled here decades ago on the day of Holi, they gathered and celebrate the festival by spraying colours.
Rajasthan Samaj, which has about 300 members, too celebrate the festival with grandeur. “Samaj members who are working in various sectors like banking, marble trade and in government offices, gather and celebrate the festival on beaches,” said Ravi Jalan, a community member.
