Mangaluru : Suresh P. Shirwadkar, took the charge as Deputy Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) here on Monday, March 9.

The Ministry of Shipping apponted this post recentlty. Mr. Shirwadkar was working as Chief Manager (Finance) in Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust prior to this assignment. A graduate from St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru, the incumbent officer is an associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

A native of Ankola in Uttara Kannada district, Mr. Shirwadkar joined the Shipping Ministry as an accounts officer in 1992 and had worked as financial advisor and chief accounts officer in Mormugao Port Trust, Goa, for eight years, said an official release from NMPT.
