Mangalore: A Public Awareness meeting was called by the Youth Wing of Jamaat –e- Islami Hind (Indian Muslim Union) was addressed by Janab M. Kunhi, district Convenor, main guest Isha Vithaldas Swami of Kemaru Mutt, social worker K. Rohini, Sanmarga editor Abdul Khader Kukkila and Auto rickshaws Union Secretary V.N Prakash. There was Thammate singing by Tari-kita Jagriti Team against corrupt administration in the beginning. M. Shaheed welcomed and conducted the proceedings.
Kunhi in his main speech referred to mounting corruption by ruling party in a state of shameless politics and opposition outcry. He referred to a woman Radio who leaked out govt records and secret files to the news media and cheating armed and cheating armed forces of this country. The corrupt nature has spread in all 4 estates of democracy. Even CM and his family, Ex CMs and their relatives have got into corrupt ways of making money and grab lands in the name of poor people.
In such vicious circumstances, public awareness of corruption in private and public life in the state and the country can help to reduce the disease and wipe it out in due course, Mohd. Kunhi declared.
Isha Vithal Dasa Swami in a key speech, referred to the cancerous spread of corruption in national and political life of Karnataka. The movement organised against such wide-spread corruption by the Youth wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind was laudable. Corruption creates restlessness and shame in its wake. Morals have to be inducted among younger generation to check such Socio-economic diseases on a large scale. Religious framework and moral teachings can guide people away from corrupt ways. He hoped for a corruption free society in India.
