Mangaluru : UGC Sponsored One-day National Level Workshop on “Inclusive Practices – Creating Classroom Experiences to Enhance Teaching-Learning” was organized by the Department of Post Graduate Studies in Commerce in association with IQAC, Besant Evening College on 28th March, 2015 in the College Auditorium.
Inaugurating the workshop, Dr. K. Sankaran, Director, Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management opined that teachers should teach in such a way that will influence, motivate and inspire students to learn.
He urged teachers to adopt Learner-centric and more self-directed approach in the teaching-learning process. Prof. Jnaneshwar Pai Maroor, Workshop Chief Advisor gave brief insight to the various themes and aspects of the workshop.
Presiding over the function, Dr. Carmelita Goveas, Principal, Besant Evening College stressed on innovations in pedagogical aspects of curriculum, which is the need of the hour. Dr. Sathish Kumar Shetty, IQAC Co-ordinator welcomed the gathering.
Prof. Ishwara Poojary proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Deepa Sethi, Assistant Professor, IIM Kozikode and Prof. Sooraj Noronha, School of Management, Manipal University were the resource persons for a daylong session. More than 150 delegates from various parts of the country actively participated and presented research papers in the workshop.
