Kundapur : A 19-year-old girl committed suicide by jumping from a municipality water tank at Sangam here on Monday, April 20 night.

The deceased Shobhina, daughter of Babanna resident of Kotegudde in Kundapuara taluk. She was suffering from eye cancer for the past one year.

It is said that she was depressed due to her illness. Hailing from a poor family the deceased was employed in a local shop as sales girl while her father worked in a hotel.

Kundapur DySP M Manjunath Shetty and Circle Inspector P M Divakar visited the spot. A case has been registered at Kundapur police station.
