Udupi : The Karnataka government on Monday asked Adani Power, which took over Lanco Infratech’s 1,200-MW Udupi Thermal Power Plant (UPCL) recently, to fulfil promises made by Lanco Infratech to the local residents, especially fishermen. According to Energy Minister D. K. Shivakumar, who was privy to a courtesy meeting between Rajesh Adani, Managing Director, Adani Group, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Mr. Adani promised to supply 90 per cent of its power to Karnataka as agreed upon and fulfil earlier promises made to residents.
On e-commerce companies including Amazon India expressing their disappointment over Karnataka government’s support, Mr. Shivakumar admitted that there was a need to make changes in the State’s IT policy, and said, “the government is considering giving a re-look at it.”
