Mangaluru : Pilikula Nisargadhama, Savayava Swavalambi Balaga and Kaklura Prathishthana jointly organised ‘Pilikula Vasanthothsava,’ at Pilikula on Sunday May 24.
Indo-American Hybrid Seeds company chairman Padma Shri Dr Manmohan Attavar was inaugurated the event by cutting the fruit.
Jackfruit and other dishes of the fruit, mangoes, cashew, tender coconuts, stalls selling ‘Bamboo rice’, Lavancha roots, chocolates and Kokam juice were filled with enthusiastic food lovers.
The wide variety of products available at the ‘Vasantotsava’ is the second successive Sunday kept food lovers engaged with delicious recipes and varieties. The Nisargdhama Authorities had organised the event to attracted a good number of people.
The venue for the ‘Vasantotsava’ were the Haat – the cluster of nine buildings – built at the cost of Rs. 3.11 crore granted by the Union and State governments. As many as 80 stalls were opened in this spacious area.
“These buildings were ready and we have made use of it. It will take few more weeks for the Urban Haat and Rural Haat (a permanent location for rural and urban artisans to display and sell their products,” said Prabhakara Sharma, the Executive Director of Pilikula Nisargadhama.
