Mangaluru: A youth stabbed to death in a broad daylight near Taluk Office here on Wednesday, May 3.

The deceased is Ranjith (27), a resident of Mogaveerapatna in Ullal. He was a fabricator by profession and comes from an economically poor family.

It is said Ranjith was involved in ganja peddling too. A person namely  Dhanu from Kanduka allegedly stabbed Ranjith.

Ranjith was lying in a pool of blood struggling for life in the Taluk Panchayat premises. Though locals admitted him to Wenlock Hospital, but doctors declared him as brought dead.

Sources said the alleged attacker Dhanu also a ganja addict. He has been absconding.

Mangaluru Police Commissioner S Murugan and fingerprint experts visited the spot.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case and investigations are on.
