Mangaluru : Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader said here on Saturday that some anti-social elements were attempting to disturb peace in his Mangaluru Assembly constituency.
Addressing presspersons he said that a few incidents of assault and stabbing of innocent persons had taken place in the past few days and that some were doing it intentionally to provoke people. He urged people not to fall prey to such attempts. He said that police should take such incidents seriously and arrest persons behind such incidents.
Later Mr. Khader conducted a meeting with Police Commissioner S. Murugan.
The Minister told the meeting that even after such incidents people were cooperating in maintaining law and order. S. Murugan, Police Commissioner, said a special police team would be constituted to tackle such incidents.
He also said, “District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) will soon be opened in district hospital Wenlock and this will be the first point of screening for developmental delays and disabilities in children in the 0-6 years age group. This will be helpful to tackle childhood disabilities through the early identification of developmental delays and disabilities and early interventions, so that these conditions do not become permanent or debilitating.
He answered for the raising farmers suicide in the state, Chief minister Siddarammaih has shown maximum concern towards farmers than any other government in the past. When Shettar was the chief minister, he had promised to waive off the debt of farmers but did not do so.
