Moodu Shedde: A Golf Club has been opened at Pilikula Nisarga Dhama in Moodushedde and a K.S Hegde Memorial Guest House has been inaugurated on Monday (Dec.13) by his son and Lokayukta (Justice) N. Santosh Hegde. He said that gulf courses and clubs are meant for rich and important civilians. But the establishment of such courses in cities could boost tourism in the region, obviously having Bangalore Golf Clubs in mind and the Infosys as well as Highlands golf courses seen there. Foreigners from several countries who are good at golf play, will arrive in Mangalore to play golf, he concluded.
The Lokayukta was an avid golf player in Delhi where he was a Judge of the Supreme Court and was a member of golf clubs to spend leisure time at the courses, in many cities, he added. Minister Palemar, MLA Abhayachandra Jain, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Chancellor Nitte Vinay Hegde, Prasanna Hegde (entrepreneur), IGP Alok Mohan and state Minorities Commission chairman Anwar Manippady, were present among the dignitaries at the Pilikula golf course.
After the inaugural ceremony, speaking to waiting pressmen, Justice Hegde told that he was prepared to probe the property deals of former CM and MP, HD Kumaraswamy in Mysore. However, no complaints had been received so far against the MP, he clarified.
Hegde also stated that there was no complaint against present CM Yeddyurappa either, on advertisements flashed in some newspapers by way of campaign by BJP. A complaint is necessary, he stated, for investigation.
About KIADB land scans, Hegde told the Press that chargesheet will be filed soon, but new facts are coming out every time such charge sheets are being prepared by his policemen.
