Mangaluru : A KAS officer Dr H N Gopalkrishna, as taken charge as Commissioner Mangaluru City Corporation on Friday September 4. Asked as he planned his actions for Mangalore city, Gopalakrishna said that he will draw plans on immediate and various other issues and take action accordingly. He said that his immediate priority is on developmental issues facing the city.

A time bound detailed report will be prepared after holding a meeting with MCC officials within 20days on Mangaluru, selected as one of the top 20 for Smart City Mission. The report will be send the same to Union government. It will be a team work that I am thinking of the progress of the city and all the concerned with be consulted and their opinion sought he added.

A 1998 batch, KAS officer, he was first appointed as Hassan municipal commissioner, and then served in various capacities in Mysuru, Vijayapura and other places. It remains to be seen whether the congress corporators will accept him and he serves convincingly, since three commissioner have been transferred in one year.
