Mangalore: District in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai laid foundation stone for the new Entrance Gate at Kadri Park, which is the largest open space in the city. The project would come up at an estimated cost of Rs 29 lakhs from MLA Fund of JR Lobo.
Mr. Lobo told press persons that the work is expected to get over in two months. Earlier, foundation stone was laid in the Deer park for musical fountain, which costs Rs 5 crore. It is under tender procedure. The road to the park will be beautified and developed with the help of city corporation. Under CSR fund, we will develop the park too. The State Government has already sanctioned a grant of Rs 40 lakh to install Children’s Toy train, he said.
The blueprint for the musical fountain was ready and procedures were being conducted. Work on the children’s toy train will also commence; for this Rs 40 lakh has been released and Rs 11 lakh will be given by the MCC.
