Mangaluru: Thousands of students joined in All College Students’ Union bundh call on Saturday, September 19.
The students from Bantwal, Sullia, Puttur areas, took out the processions. The protest began from Dr. Ambedkar Circle and ended at DC’s office.
The student’s representatives spoke on Yettinahole issue and demanded the government to withdraw the project.
Student should wake up to support for welfare of the people of district. We need to continue till the project is dropped, said Sri Esha Vittaldasa Swamiji of Kemar Matt in his address said,
Mangaluru diocese Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, Rohini, president of the Association , MG Hegde Social Activist, spoke on the occasion and said, the ministers snatching the rights of our people, everyone must oppose the project.
The protestors burnt pictures of former chief ministers D. V Sadananda Gowda and Veerappa Moily on this occasion.
