Mangaluru : Renowned journalist, author and columnist Mr.M.J.Akbar addressed the members of the Academic Council of St.Aloysius College, Mangalore on Monday, September 29.

While speaking on higher education he felt that education should be above populism in the policy perspective of any Government.

He said that it is of historical importanceto recognize the services of Christian Missionaries from the West for focusing on India other than many other South East Asian Countries.

While recalling his close association with Mr.George Fernandes, Former Defence Minister of India and Mr.AravindAdiga, renowned author, both of whom are the alumni of the college, he acknowledged the services of St.Aloysius College to the society.

Rev.Fr.Swebert D’Silva, Principal welcomed the gathering. Rev.Fr.Denzil Lobo, the Rector was present.
