Mangaluru: The Mangalore police arrested 3 persons in connection to the killing of a person named Muhammed at Ambikanagar in Kavoor on Wednesday night.

The arrested are Nasir (31), Imran (23) and Kalandar Shaffi (23), residents of Kunjathbail. They were nabbed from KSRTC bus stand in the city on Sunday night after they went absconding for four days.

It is said that the trio had nurtured some enmity against Muhommed over land dispute and had hatched a plan to murder him.

It is said, when Muhammed visited the house of a neighbour named Iqbal at around 8 pm on Wednesday, the trio seized the opportunity and stabbed him on his way back home.

The accused were produced before the judge on Sunday, upon which they were remanded to judicial custody till October 27.
