Mangaluru : The National Green Tribunal, Southern Zone, Chennai, which heard a batch of petitions against the Yettinahole project on December 21 posted the next hearing to January 8, 2016.
K.N.Somashekar, one of the petitioners, said the Advocate General Karnataka appeared and submitted that the State will not go ahead with the project until the statutory clearances are obtained and until further orders from the NGT.
The tribunal recorded the submissions of the Advocate General and ordered to continue with the previous undertaking made by the Chief Engineer of the Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd till the next date of hearing, and not to carry out any activities of the project, he said.
